Car Notes
2010.05.09 Ebay

Garden Grove, California

1999 Chevrolet Camaro SS convertable, original local SoCal car it's entire life. It is a 6 speed manual, with the LS1 of course as well. Engine runs excellent (gets around 26 mpg on the highway easily!) and trans shifts smoothly as well. The engine is all stock, nothing has been messed around with on it. Interior is charcoal/dark grey leather and in nice shape as well. Driver seat is power and passenger is manual (believe this is the only way they came, no power passenger seats) Even has the SS floor mats! Has steering wheel controls for the stereo which is just a tape deck (no CD) it works good but the driver's door speaker is a little scratchy sounding. There is a small hole in the radio facia you can see, for a GPS mount, but that is the only hole or mark on the dash area. The sunvisors are a little loose, but seems to be common in a few F bodies I've come across. The convertable top works great and is over all in pretty good shape, but it does have a leak at the top of the rear window, was resealed once in the past it looks like, but the top material has pulled away from the glass a little. I have only driven the car in nice weather so was never an issue to me. As for the rear of the body, its in good shape, completely rust free of course, but the clear coat is peeling on the rear spoiler, the hood is fine though, a few small scuff markshere and there, but nothing severe at all. Underneath the car is good, it has tubular rear/lower control arms and an aftermarket lower body brace (was on it when I got it, so do not know the brand) Car rides on 2000 model SS wheel instead of the chrome '99 style ones. Rear tires are in good shape, but front ones will need replacing somewhat soon.
The only issues the car really has I can think of, is the wiper !mechanism has a plastic bushing that has cracked or something, as it tends to pop off easy and the wiper motor just spins and the arms don't wipe back and forth, as I drove it just on nice days with the roof down, I never bothered replacing it. And as well, just a week ago the check engine light came on, and it is showing the right side cat convertor is weak, so will need changing before passing a smog I figure. I am just selling it AS IS, as I don't need an extra car around any more and don't want to put the money into a new cat at the moment and paying another year's registration (it runs out the end of this month if you are in California.) Car does have a clean title. Only other issue is the a/c has a slow leak..if you top it off with a can of freon it will go a couple of weeks before running low on it. Other than that it's been a great car and is perfect for summer cruising, gets great milage and is an SS as well !!
No reserve with a very fair starting price for a cool cruiser with only just a couple small things to take care of to have a perfect Camaro SS convertable with a 6 speed trans!
Car MUST be paid for and picked up within 7 days of close of auction. If you can not abide by this, please don't bother wasting time bidding on it.
