Car Notes |
2010.04.19 Ebay
Chicago,IL.
If you have been waiting to purchase "the best, the 1," then this is it! This is GMMG car # 36, designated for 36 years (Count from 1967 until 2002), even though it is the 35th anniversary edition. Car is as new, never smoked in still smells new. Kept in a temp.controlled garage, and covered when not driven. The history of this "supercar" is beyond any other, When thinking about purchasing "The last Camaro" in 2001, after meeting Scott Settlemire from Chevrolet the FBODFATHER, I traded in my 2001 Camaro SS and was 1 of the lucky to receive this vehicle.
The Camaro was ordered on 01NOV01 and it was delivered to dealer on 01DEC01, After taking a trip from Chevrolet to the supertuners at SLP engineering. While at SLP the crew added the Auburn Hi-Torque Posi-traction rear differential with 3.23 gears, then installed the venerable "Blackwing" ram air box, then the center mount perfomance exhaust was installed, not finished they also added the Bilstein Ultra-performance suspension package which includes new springs, shocks and bushings. Under the hood is also the rare SLP Car numbered plague on the front right cylinder head. Then SLP threw in a SS 35th anniversary car cover, a dash plaque,2 SS key Fobs, SS 35th anniversary rear deck mat, and matching front car mat set. Then pasted on a "second sticker" with updated pricing for the "package," The SS at this point had 345 HORSEPOWER.
Then after going to some shows at the SLP day, and at Fbody events at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green. KY, we Met th great "Supertuner" from GMMG Matt murphy. GMMGINC.NET (Website you can view the cars he has built). Matt was doing a limited run of 50 "Perfomance Edition" Camaros for the 35th anniversary. Then next you can read between the lines, an enclosed trailer was sent to Chicago at my home to pick up this car for some more "superformance" Tuning. We have pictures that will be included as the Camaro was undergoing the conversion at Matt's shop in Marietta,GA. What did Matt and his 'team" do to this SS? Where to start.
1) Installed new aluminum grill with 1969 style bold SS emblem in center.
2) Blacked out rear panel, installed chrome CAMARO letters on back panel, along with GMMG badge, and SS Perfomance Edition Cloisonne Style emblem.
3) GMMG then went to work under this SS. installed a chambered exhaust system tied into the SLP Center mount exhaust (Awesome Sound), Then installed a set of 3.73 gears in the Auburn Rear Diff, and installed an aluminum rear cover with a drain plug to make it easy to chenge the fluid when needed. Then GMMG installed a set of Eibach progressive resistance springs at all 4 corners.
4) To improve the stopping power GMMG installed a set of 4 slotted rotors, and powdercoated red all 4 calipers.
5) Next Matt and his team went into the interior and installed a new dash panel Black on White/Silver gauge color with a red SS on the speedo side that glows SS at night, and a new chrome dash plaque showing horsepower and torque + car number (Like the early Corvettes had), Then he installed a power antenna and a Self dimming mirror with electronic compass and Temp gauge, and put car number 36 on rear of mirror and left front of windshield. GMMG also installed a cut off switch (hidden) to help prevent theft. Then inside the doors there is a GMMG certification tag with the car number. To top it off inside Matt gave me a set of GMMG car mats, and an extra set of the prototype GMMG mats for this car.
6) Under the hood the Crew at GMMG went to work some more, Stamped GMMG and the car number of both exhaust manifolds after they were port matched to the head, Installed a carbon fiber GMMG specific ram airbox, Installed an under drive pulley for even more horsepower, a new thermostat, supertuned the computer, installed a new throttle body, Mobil 1 oil cap and Mobil 1 sticker, plus some "secrets" that GMMG keeps private.
7) On the hood GMMG installed 380 H.P. call outs, and the stripes were removed from under the grille area to give this Camaro SS a more Camaro like apperance.
8) This car is 1 owner, adult driven never wrecked or beat on, as a bonus you will find no where this car is covered 100% under a transferable GMPP (General motors Protection plan), Major Guard coverage until 26OCT2010 this covers virtually the whole SS!
9) Car comes with the extremely rare owners portfolio from GM for Camaro owners which cannot be found anywhere as GM only made so many and then ran out, also I still have the orginal plastic that covered the car seats when new,and all the yellow inspection stickers from the windshield.
10) Car comes with Chevrolet window sticker, GMMG window sticker, SLP window sticker, all invoices, Pictures from GMMG, letters from Scott Settlemire, and Letters from Bob Lutz who also assisted in getting me this vehicle.
11) Many magazine articles also come with the car with titles such as "the last SS' "say goodbye to a friend", "Last of detroit muscle", etc..
12) Comes with brochures, SLP "hard cards," Super Sport Owners of America, and Illinois Camaro club + The now closed Worldwide Camaro magazine where this very car was featured. You get everything, a 35th Anniversary baseball style jacket with leather sleeves. new 35th anniversay polo and t-shirts, new GMMG T-shirts, Plus much more.
13) This is 1 of the most documented cars ever listed here, will not piece out anything all will be sold as a "Package".
14) Payment to be made by cash, cashiers check, bank transfer when the money is clear you get the car and everything that goes with it, I have more pics and any questions will be answered car is not being given away, watch the auctions Barrett-Mecum etc. the prices of cars from Yenko, Nickey, Motion, Grand Spaulding Dodge, Tasca, Royal Pontiac, the COPO cars in the hundreds of thousands this is that car, save it and you could send your kids through college with the money you will make.
Just had car at dealer last week to have everything checked over the mechanic stated "This is the nicest Camaro from 2002 that i have ever seen"! Car is in excellent condition oil just changed with new mobil 1 and mobil 1 oil filter.
Lots of extras come with this car, like #5th Anniversay Diecast car,SSOA Numbered Camaro,#5th Ann Wall clock, 35th Anniversay posters,35th anniversary hard cards, to much more to list. you will not regret buying this SS, Also have a brand new "Trophy mat", car is not being given away just a fair price the window stickers alone total over $43,000. The work performed by SLP and GMMG was certified by GM! The underhood signatures are by Scott Settlemire, John Heinrichy,Matt murphy, Mike Carnahan.
If you a "CAMARO" person this is the most complete car you will ever find all paperwork I mean EVERYTHING from birth till now and a full warranty!! Nothing but the best!
