Car Notes
2007.11.05 Ebay

Winamac, Indiana, United States

This is a 2001 SS Camaro with an LS1 5.7L V8 engine, 6-speed manual transmission (Hurst shifter), T-Top roof, stock low-profile rims, pewter colored paint, black leather interior, Monsoon AM/FM stereo w/CD, dual exhaust with chrome tips, non-smoker vehicle. It is very clean and fast. The car is completely stock except for the following Summit Racing suspension components: rear control arms, sway bar, torque arm and transmission mount. These have been upgraded to eliminate the annoying “bunny hop” that many higher performance cars suffer from. The car no longer hops, but launches from a stop very strong and predictably. There are less than 1,000 miles on the new set of Fuzion tires (Firestone’s performance summer tires).

You might be surprised to find out that this 300 plus horse power car will achieve 28 to 30 mpg on the open highway. Of course, that depends on how you drive. At 55 mph with the transmission in 6th gear, the engine hums at just over 1,200 RPM. It’s not surprising that this sports car does not incur the gas-guzzler tax.

This car is extremely reliable. It takes only a split second for the engine to come alive with a short burst of a roar upon starting. The low growl of the exhaust is enough to put a smile on anyone’s face. With that said, the vehicle is still sold “as is” with no warranty. I would not expect any problems with this car for years to come however.

I have only put Mobile One synthetic oil in the engine.

The body is in great shape except for the back bumper and a small dent on the rear, passenger fender. The bumper was the result of low speed collision (i.e. less than 5 mph). The brakes of the vehicle behind me failed, and as a result the car now has some minor blemishes as one can see in the last photo. The small dent in the fender was there when I purchased the vehicle (I believe I am the third owner). The car has seen only a couple days of winter. It was garage kept otherwise. I will include a car cover with the vehicle.
